1st Space Technology Applications for Resilient Solutions for the Philippines (STARSPH) Ideathon
STARSPH Ideathon is a two-day in-person innovation sprint on Aug. 8-9, 2025, at Adamson University, Philippines. In this event, participants focus on proposing creative solutions to current space-related challenges. The organizers will solicit pressing concerns and agendas from government or private institutions. The participants will then form groups to discuss the solicited issues to provide potential solutions and showcase them at the end of the event in front of the representatives from the contacted institutions

GUIDELINES
1. Individual Participation Only
Please note that entries must be submitted individually. Group or team submissions will not be considered.
2. Working Group (WG) Themes
Participants must align their proposed solution with at least one of the following themes:

Disaster Risk Reduction and Management

Biodiversity and Conservation
3. Essay Requirements
As of July 7, 2025, we have removed the video submission requirement for joining the Ideathon. Instead, all applicants are now required to submit an essay (minimum of 250 words) that addresses the following:

A real-world problem aligned with the WG themes

A proposed solution that uses space applications to address the problem
-
A brief discussion on why you want to join the Ideathon

How you believe space technology can be used to solve world problems

Any relevant personal, academic, or professional experience (experiences related to space applications are optional but encouraged
4. Application Results and Payment for Ideathon
An email informing the candidates of the results of their application will be sent within a week of their application. All accepted applications will be asked to secure their payment on or before August 8, 2025, which is the start of Ideathon. All Ideathon participants will be asked to pay the regular fee.
